Prefer to listen to the blog? You can do that here:
Just as night follows day, and Hot Cross Buns appear on Boxing Day, New Year follows Christmas.
So, Happy 2024 everyone!
I hope it has started the way you wanted – and, if not, that all will be well.
Today is unique
Being a big believer in making every day like New Year, today is unique because it’s the day after New Year’s Day! The day when things can start to look less rosy than yesterday. Life starts to look more familiar as the day-to-day routines re-emerge in the post-holiday way they appear.
Does it seem too early to focus on it feeling like New Year every day? Maybe. Maybe not. It’s a matter of perspective. Your perspective.
It may depend on whether you’re still on leave, savouring in the holiday spirit. If you’re back at work. Or whether friends and family are leaving to return to their lives.
Reflecting and Preparing
Whatever the coming days and weeks hold for you as you move past the festive season, I hope you’ve been able to reflect on the year that was. Then, prepare for the days, weeks and months ahead. Moving forward in the directions you desire.
Doing this myself got me thinking about how we live, work and play. What’s important? What does success mean? How important is it to make the most of each day, knowing you’ve achieved something when it ends?
Success
While putting this blog together, I was going to do a short video of my own. Then, I came across one of Matthew McConaughey talking about success. It rang true, so I decided to share it today.
When we define success on our terms, it’s up to us whether we achieve it or not. Up to us whether we embrace the challenges. Learn from each step along the way. Stick it out until the end.
I’ll leave it there today. So, until next time…
I wish you all the best in your quest for success and wellness in life and work in 2024 and beyond.
Anne
