Prefer to listen to the blog? You can do that here:
It’s been longer than I planned since I last wrote. So, I’m back briefly now, to break that silence.
When I wrote my last blog, I had no idea about what was about to unfold. It left me wondering if I had a hunch about what was about to happen. Or whether I’d created my own self-fulfilling prophecy.
What I was reminded of about communication, is it’s often not what happens that’s important – it’s how we deal with it. Which really means, stuff will happen that we may not like. Or understand how we’re a part of it. Yet when it’s happened, it’s happened. Or said.
And no matter how much we know, or how prepared we are, ‘perfect storms’ can still happen.
My ‘perfect storm’ was triggered by something very personal. My brother’s journey with Pancreatic Cancer. And the role denial, plus a range of emotions, played as his journey came to an end.
He has now become my most profound teacher in the language of emotions and the world of communication.
I will miss my ‘Big Bro’ every day. Feel proud that he regained his voice when he needed it most. And be forever thankful for what he taught me.
As I bring forward what I’ve learned, it’s important I do it respectfully and positively.
So, that’s all from me today. Silence broken.
Back soon.

Thankyou Narelle
Times like these are a great reminder that it’s memories, not things, that will always be with us.
